We have seen a wealth of fresh editions of the adidas superstar 80s sneaker this summer. From a luscious Rainbow Primeknit to the recent faded blues of the Rio 2016 Olympics special, all have had an emphasis on color in addition to the iconic silhouette’s form. But a new Superstar 80s made with Korean sneaker store Kasina has gone the opposite route, serving up a sleek suede pair that is all about the minimalist aesthetic.
Both pairs of the adidas superstar 80s womens come constructed out of a premium tumbled leather. Adding to the luxe look of the shoe is the tonal nubuck noted on the heel tab and Three Stripes branding. Want more premium hits? Check out the laser engraved trefoil branding on the tongue. Additional features include the rubberized toe and the vulcanized sole.
The adidas superstar ii turns the pair on its head by giving the white leather build a reptilian texture to be juxtaposed against the black leather accents on the stripes and heel tab. The rest of the shoe, namely the white rubber outsole and shelled toe, remain the same. The only real difference on this go around is that the tongue and other gold leaf branding that we typically see are absent, for a much quieter kick.
